Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day - CLOSED

Hello folks - and welcome to any people who have popped over here from Sew Mama Sew for the Giveaway Day extravaganza!!!

My little blog is where I share my adventures into learning to sew - both clothes and accessories. Feel free to browse around and see what I've been up to over the last year or so. I have a couple of fun tutorials as well - so do check them out, and if you try them I'd love to share the results on here too.

But, let's get down to the goods shall we?! Without further ado, here are the goodies up for grabs in the giveaway today:

Bend the Rules Sewing by Amy Karol
1 length of baby blue gathered lace
1 length of Scandinavian style ribbon
1 bag of multi-colour beads
1 bag of baby blue beads

So the main event is the wonderful book by Amy Karol: Bend the Rules Sewing. Here is the blurb about the book from Amazon:

Author Amy Karol brings stitchers everywhere a down-to-earth introduction to sewing, including thirty projects so adorable and cool they'll inspire anyone to pick up a needle and thread. Written with Amy's characteristic warmth and flair, you'll find information on basic equipment and supplies, advice on choosing and using fabrics and a fantastic section on techniques. In addition, Amy walks readers through easy, inspiring patterns designed for the fashion-savvy crafter. Playful, modern projects, which include pillows, aprons and purses, help novices master sewing skills while providing immediate sewing gratification and confidence. Best of all, Amy explains whats easy, whats hard and when not to sweat the small stuff. With its best-friend tone, solid reference section and super cute projects, this is the introduction to sewing that you wont want to be without.

There really are so many brilliant, fun, quick and easy projects in the book. Why don't you check out the Flickr page to see some of the things people have made from the book.

If you would like to be in for a chance to get your hands on these goodies then leave me a comment below telling me what crafty things you plan to do this Summer and/or tell me about you own blog if you have one, as I'd love to discover new blogs. I will ship Internationally, so everyone is welcome to enter - the more the merrier! The giveaway is open until the end of the day on Wednesday 25th May. After that I will pick a winner using the Random Number Generator and will announce it on Friday 27th May.

Good Luck!

***Thanks everyone - this giveaway is now CLOSED***

  136. My sewing machine is getting dusty. I have a new found knitting obsession and am knitting hats for the family as we head into winter Down Under. I blog, starting mainly to share my sewing and crafting but as time goes on I tend to blather about other things as well.

  138. Oooh - I've been wanting to get my hands on a copy of Bend-the-Rules Sewing!

This summer I am making a bunch of little things for my kids. I did a skirt for my daughter last night. Hopefully I'll get these finished *before* summer, actually, since they're all summmer clothes! xo

  139. This summer I will finish all baby things for the niece due in July! A quilt's the biggest thing.

My blog is rss-feed-reader friendly, as I rarely update more than once a week. I put up a variety of projects, but right now it's mostly for my records - it's not that snazzy a blog (although love it when people come by!). I plan to focus on it more sometime in the future...

  142. Thanks for a great giveaway! That book looks v good - I think I need to break the rules more in my sewing!
I've got lots of sewing plans for the summer, mostly involving dresses and vintage patterns. My blog is at http://gentlewomanthief.wordpress.com and I ramble on about sewing, writing, a bit of food, vintage and antique bits and pieces and the 18th century... though at the moment I'm deep in dissertation-writing territory, so the blog's quite quiet - I'll be back with avengance after the 6th of June, though!

Again, thanks for the giveaway and for helping me find a new blog to add to my Google Reader list!

  144. Hi Suzie, thanks for this great giveaway! :)

I live in Australia so it's nearly winter here (and absolutely freeeezing), so I plan to sit infront of the heater for a good amount of time, and do some sewing and crocheting. I am planning to sew some life-like dogs and cats to sell in my Etsy shop. I bought a whole heap of fake fur last year to go towards making these cute critters.

I crochet Amigurumi animals and have an Etsy shop. I also have a blog, where I post about my creations, as well as post about inspiring topics, projects and items: Daisy Doe Blog - http://www.DaisyDoe.blogspot.com

    Thanks for reading! :)

  159. Ok, don't laugh, but my crafting plans for the summer are to start on homemade Christmas gifts for this year. I officially started last week and gift #1 is a pleated, lined handbag using amazing large-scale houndstooth fabric with a coordinating black-and-white graphic print fabric and black piping. It will be going to a good friend of mine who loves anything with houndstooth print.
